 Colver Carp still munching!

Once again the Sunday weather gods failed to smile upon us, as driving rain and blustery winds seemed to save their worst for the weekend! The Colver Carp, though, are still feeding. It seems as if they are begining to shoal up as, although there were some good weights recorded, a few anglers struggled for bites or could only catch small silver fish. All in all, though, it has to be said that despite the conditions the lake fished pretty well for the time of year.

Once again, venue expert, Jason Farmery led the way home with 38lb 12oz from peg 41. Jason caught a few small roach at the start of the match, then switched to his new..... secret bait!!!! It proved very effective as a steady run of Carp found their way into his keepnet. There is a prize of a brand new tin of sweetcorn to the first person to email me what Jason's secret bait consists of....

30lb 4oz was enough to see Chris Shore into second place. Chris caught fish steadily throughout the match from peg 26, but finished about two Carp behind Jason.

Section winners Keith Macfarlane and Phil Sandsby both caught Carp late in the match, both, funnily enough at opposite ends of the lake. Phil on end peg 46 and Keith on "golden" peg 23. With Keith failing to take advantage of drawing the "golden" peg, the accumulator rolls over to the next match..... tough luck Keith....
